Sometimes its best to let the client give the lead on their results, here is what Paul had to say about the last 12 weeks! Again everyone has their differing reasons for wanting to change. Pauls body has changed a lot, as well as his beard but when we had our first chat about what he wanted to achieve, climbing ability was amongst the top goals. He wanted to improve his sport! That meant, strength, lighter or less metabolically inactive tissue (fat), grip strength all whilst trying to preserve muscle mass or increase it… Some say it can’t be done, we never say can’t!
Hope you enjoy the read, I think it perfectly sums up the support and network of professionals I work with. I think it sums up how a group is stronger than any individual alone. I think it sums up how much we CARE about our transformations in every aspect and how everyone ‘buys into’ the process from the cleaner to the management!
Just to clarify, Paul was on a compositional change but also wanted to work on his strength for climbing: Here’s what happened with his lifts:
- Bench press 90 up to 100
- Squat clean 90 up to 100 ( Without doing 1 single clean in the 12 weeks)
- Deadlift 180 up to 185
- Strict press 60 up to 65
- Pull up max 14 up to 18
- Pull up single around 15kgs we think up to 32kg
- Can lock of on both arms- climbing technique he couldn’t do previously
- Climbing I have jumped two grades- again another climbing term.
So here’s what Paul said about the 12 weeks!
I didn’t know what to expect when I started the #theocmethod 12 week transformation. My aim was to lose body fat, and in turn become stronger and more efficient with my own body weight movements. But this is no ordinary short term fat loss scheme. What Ollie Campbell PT provided was his expert knowledge and years of experience which enabled him to devise a nutrition and training plan that suited me perfectly. Not to mention the copious amounts of delicious recipes provided.
Perhaps the most important aspect of the 12 week transformation is that there was such an incredible support network from Ollie, the priority 6 staff and he also enabled all of the transformation crew to become motivators, facilitators, training partners and inspirations to each other which became a huge motivating factor for me. As a result of Ollie being so hands on, my nutrition and training were constantly varied as a following my weekly weigh ins, measurements and photos ensuring my progress never ceased.
I started at 94.5Kg. 12 weeks later I am 87.5Kg and dropped between halved my body fat with a HIGHER lean mass than before. The most surprising aspect is that after this transformation not only have I achieved my goal of increasing my power to weight ratio but I have also increased my Clean, Squat, Deadlift and Bench press and general strength and power.
All I can say is that with the knowledge, expertise and commitment offered by Ollie partnered with the amazing crew of people he assembled, it was impossible to fail. I have left the transformation with all the tools to continue with my nutrition and training to maintain the progress I have made. It is a truly life changing experience and it has without a doubt influenced how I live my life.
I have never in my life been so motivated to achieve something. I felt inspired on a daily basis by the other guys in the transformation and the goals they were smashing and boundaries they were pushing. I came into the gym every day not only for myself, but for the people around me who were given the same opportunity. It’s hard not to be motivated when you can see results and it seems like everyone who comes in contact with Ollie and the 12 week transformation see huge results.
If I have to summarise what the past 12 weeks mean to me it is simple. I made great friends, I learned about nutrition and how to utilize it for what my body needs, I became stronger, leaner and more confident in myself.
P.S. Bulgarian split squats SUUUUUUUUCK
